I'm on day 5 of brewing this kit and according to the instructions I should be adding the hop pellets and leaving it for a further 5 days.
Fermentation for the first 2 days was absolutely mental (thank goodness I used a blow off tube) and it's still bubbling away every couple if seconds. Just feels a bit early to be adding the hops right now.
From what I've read on the forum most folk seem to add hops at or towards the end of fermentation.
I feel I should be holding back for a couple of days🤔

Hi scrumpy.
I've made this kits a number of times and never added the hops until the gravity has dropped to at least 1010. Im sure it's been mentioned on the forum that if you add the hops to early it makes the finished beer very bitter. Good luck.

Cheers Dicko

Hi scrumpy
Ive made the festival and the youngs IPAs a number of times and there's not a lot between them. It all comes down to personal taste and the liking for a well hopped beer. 😛
By the way the festival can ferment down to 1005 so take a couple of gravity readings before bottling.

Cheers Dicko acheers.

I was going to do the Young's kit as it seems to get a lot of good mentions on here but the local brew shop didn't have any in. Looking forward to tasting this one though.
I'll keep an eye on the SG readings.
Thanks.athumb..
