I store my FV's stacked inside one anthor and are undoubtedly stratched to hell. Never had a problem though

Hmm, probably my recipes then. Virtually all my dark and light beers come out well just seems to be whats inbetween.
I must try cling film. This is what the Youngs looks like when cooling.

seems very expensive to me. is it a uk branding of the US 'Better-Bottle' without the racking arm?

IF PET Be very careful if adding hot water or making a kit that suggest rinsing the tin out with off the boil water ;)
oh no its the incredible shrinking FV hehe..

IMHO the best way to prevent scratching the inside of FV's is to not stick your arm in with a scubby to clean and rely on a good soak n rinse cycle, i also switched to youngs 4" neck and jerrycans from buckets so i cant stuff kit in them between brews too. ;)

Hi!
The Young's Wide Necked fermenter is 25 litres and almost half the price of the FerMonster.
The FerMonster is 53cm tall - that may be a problem in some brewfridges (add an airlock and it wouldn't fit in mine; my Young's Wide Necked fermenter doesn't fit either).
Just for reference, The Range fermenting bucket is 41.5 cm tall.

I agree these are much better much cheaper & do the job I've used them for years.

Seems a good idea...but I'm into saving my money and replacing the FV's to the shiny shiny BrewBuckets.
Yes the cost is a lot! But I can put a carrying strap on (coz I'm one handed!) and the ease of testing, bottling and no need to secondly...and looks the business :-)

I have one of these and was thinking about using it for a no chill cube but the lid has to be destroyed to open, what do you use, thinking cling film?

I can get one of these so the airlock fits perfectly.

where i live everyone uses the big 20L and a water bottle dispenser at their house when taking the cap off you put these temp caps on with a resealable hole. this is a modified version of that cap.

more pics of how it would look like

Absolutely not. It will suck in air as it cools and potentially contaminate your beer! Check out the photo i posted of a Youngs fermenter when sealed airtight. It contracted a lot, before that i used a cheap FV without a hole in the lid. When you first fill them up they expand a lot so its a good idea to vent some pressure. Normally twice is enough. I now use a 32l SS pot as i dont want any plastics leaching out. Put a few weights on the lid to hold it down. @MyCul uses cling film over his which is a good idea.
