Hi
I am brewing a kit - Muntons Premium Gold (Midas touch golden ale) and the guidance for the fermentation stage is after 4 - 6 days fermentation will be complete/when bubbles cease and gravity is below 1014. It has now been 12 days and the gravity is stuck at 1022 for the last 3 days. There are a few but not many bubbles rising. Should I keg it or is it too late. I have kept the temp as per the instructions between 18-20C

Any advise would be welcome, cheers

:drink:

My first brew stuck at 1022, i used a youngs yeast, tried stirring the yeast and added another packet of yeast but to no avail.

Am now drinking the beer and it tastes malty but very nice.

So you could try giving it a stir and see if that gets the yeast to kick in again.

Hi, it's a complete bugger when that happens isn't it :(
Don't panic unduly though :)
Have a read through these posts Clickyand have a go at some of the tips given

Many thanks indeed for the speedy advise, I have stirred it thorougly but gently and will see what it is like tomorrow, if this doesn't help I will add some more yeast and try that. I must say it does smell very very good, thanks again,

Cheers :thumb:

Look forward to hearing how you get on Mr A ... we love a happy ending :thumb:

Alas no joy,
I gave it a stir left it for 24 hours but no movement, added some more yeast left for 30 mins then stirred it in gently and still no joy after 48 hours, so tonight it will be kegged. Gravity is stubbonly stuck at 1022.

Not to worry MrA :)
You tried :thumb:
At the end of the day you'll still have a decent pint to drink
