10 days into fermentation and I took my first gravity reading since I started , original was 1050 and today's was 1010 ! gonna stick it out until Friday to try and drop it that little bit more . Took a cheeky sip out of the trial jar and it tastes good I have high hopes for this one after its been crashed and conditioned , one thing though which I am quiete worried about is there is hardly no bubbles or foam on top of my brew now it looks like a big bucket of coca cola ! What's going on ?

The krausen is only present at the start of the fermentation. It then subsides as fermentation slows down and it gets near finishing. It is perfectly normal. If I were you I would take another reading on wednesday and if it the same (1.010) then move the FV somewhere cold. Concrete floor would be perfect. This will help the yeast to settle outg giving you a clearer beer. There will still be plenty of yeast in suspension though for secondary fermentation.

Well done for holding out :thumb:

Thank you very much for the reply mate , to be honest I did think it was something to do with fermentation been almost over but it never hurts to get a second opinion. I will do as you say and take a second reading on Wednesday, however for crashing I'm gonna rack to a secondary. Not really necessary I know but just don't wanna keep it in my smelly dirty primary haha.

+1 on all the info...you need to check your gravity, the powers that be say check over a 3 days period. Well done now get your next brew on the go...

Thanks a lot mate I will keep checking it up until Friday , wish I could put another on once my primary is empty but I won't have enough bottles for when it's ready to come out

go down to your local pub and ask them to save them for you..or go round a few locals and take what they have..they only go into recycling anyway
