Guys

I have just cracked open one of my first condition beer and it might aswell just gone everywhere...fizzy which is great but surly it shouldn't had been that lively!

Any ideas please?

Also I have some in the fridge which I am going to try and open one to see if I get the same effect....

Have had gushers once or twice before.Not infected but possibly over carbed. I now try to stick to 1.9 to 2.1 levels of carbonation and have since been ok.
Might be worth looking at your carb levels!
 
Was the bottle that exploded chilled or room temp?

I only put half a tea spoon of sugar pre bottling to be honest but i will reduce this again om next batch �����
Why not try batch priming,calculator free on here. It's far easier imho and you can choose your level of carbonation easier as well.
Was the beer also ready to bottle!. I think with my problems i may have been a bit hasty with one of them.I now allow at least 16 days and test to make damn sure it's steady:thumb:
 
The ones in the fridge should be much, much less gushy - assuming the one you opened was at room temp ?
 
Just a thought...As these have somewhat not gone my way, would it do any harm if I pour the condition ale into my same ale that I have in my PV I have going which is ready and good ?
 
Room temp bottles are liable to gush. The flat one from the fridge may have been due to a bad seal. It happens sometimes. Also if your priming each bottle individually, it is easy to miss one out.

Think your right as the same batch I have in two PV is perfect and now clear, and it's taken about two weeks. So I guess if I waited a week gone then bottled maybe just maybe I wouldn't be peed off haha
 
100% but like mentioned on a recent reply to this post the fridge ones are perfectly clear but flat as a pancake...so I am thinking about putting all the bottles into the PV any thoughts of not doing this as I hate waste ?
 
It might be a 1000/1 chance.
Your "gusher" might have had a infection in the bottle.
Your "flat" one from the fridge, might have a bad seal on the cap.
If your happy with the FG and the priming sugar, we should look elsewhere.
