Hi All, I'm new to the forum.

Right after arriving in this marvellous country I was exposed to kit brews, and I did about 20 of my own before curiosity drew me further in.

I now have about 10 AG brews behind me, and - although I am still ironing out kinks in both method and equipment - I am getting the hang of it.

But nothing beats learning from your peers, and I am looking forward to absorbing both knowledge and spirits (you'll excuse the pun) from you lot.

Cheers,

Morten

Thanks for the immediate welcomes!

@Jim: My location is Ambleside, are you around here too?

How do HotHead :thumb:

There's a couple of us forum members just South of Kendal :!:

You're handy up at Ambleside for some decent local ales

That's very true, Baz Chaz. There are several excellent micro breweries nearby (Barngates and Hawkshead to name only a few), and plenty of pubs to enjoy their beers at.

So, what is it that drives us to spend an entire Sunday rustling up a mere 5 gallons? I can't explain it to non-enthusiasts, but it's brilliant to be among like-minded people!

Thank you all for welcoming me in

Welcome Morton. It was great to meet you today. You have a great set up. As you have already seen there are a few of us in South Lakes. And this is a friendly forum. Next time i'm up in Ambleside on a weekend I'll stop by to sample your brew. :thumb: Shame I couldn't today but sadly working. Sorry you can't make the Spring Thing but I understand it's short notice, but you will be more than welcome at next years event. Hopefully being organised just after this years event. One question I forgot to ask. Where do you get your gas from? I can't find anywhere local. I've been told to contact J & R Gases but not tried them yet.

Thanks, people. You ARE a friendly lot, at I'm feeling right at home already :)

@Bob, one of our friends runs a pub and a restaurant in town, and he very kindly lets me piggy-back on his bulk gas orders.
I searched for ages for a good supply nearby, and never found any, before finally sorting it with our mate.

Just goes to show, can't beat good friendship and networking!
