electrim mash boiler

hi all,, I have just been looking at an "Electrim Mash Bin" on an ebay site and to me it looks plastic, it says it has a 2400 watt element. I was wondering if anyone has ever fitted an element into a plastic fermenting bin with any success as i have a few spares that i could try to do it to. Would like to hear your thoughts on this....... :drink:

If it is Polypropylene it should be safe for food use when heated :thumb:

I've got one of the electrims, really good. Think a few of the folks on here have made their own from various styles of plastic bucket + kettle elements. (Didn't fancy it myself, so just plumped for one of the ready-mades in case I killed myself or blew up the house; I'm no sparky).

There's a couple of decent guides on YouTube for it though. And as I say, I'm sure there's a couple of folks here who'll be able to tell you more from first hand tinkering :grin:
