Electric siphon

I have a battery-operated pump that looks like a siphon but can pump uphill. It's very useful on brew days. I sterilise all my gear in the FV but it won't fit under any taps unless I take it up to the bathroom and I don't want the risk of spilling it as I bring it downstairs. So, I fill the kitchen sink with warm water and use this gadget to fill my FV after adding some VWP powdered sanitiser.

It's also very handy for transferring Adblue from a five-gallon drum into my Skoda Yeti. Or screenwash, Obviously I don't want methanol in my beer and Adblue tastes like pig's piss but it's a doddle to rinse out between tasks. The batteries seem to last for ages.

It's even got an automatic cut-out! So, you can't overflow anything. And it's cheap. Highly recommended.

Cant see if it is food safe or not?

For the time it will spend in contact with your water, wort, gin or whatever, I don't think it's a concern. I doubt if it's certified for foods use. But I think it will be OK

If you are putting adblue through it anyway who cares if it is food safe.

Adblue tastes like pig's piss

I was going to ask how you know but on second thoughts.

There's a bit of an urban myth that Adblue IS made from pig's urine. Although both contain urea, it's not true. For the record, I have never tasted pig's urine nor had the opportunity! It's not on my bucket list either.
