Has it been a really bad year for elderflowers this year?? Normally I see trees dripping with them but I've hardly seen any this year, typical I just got set up with a load of DJs and was looking forward to getting some together

Try searching. There are plenty available apparently, mine havn't come through yet either, but they will probably be late due to the late snow etc.

I'd say mine will be ready in 1-2 weeks...

They're there, they're just several weeks late. Its actually looking like being a really good year for elderflowers & berries. I had a cycle round the area where I live and even if I make a gallon of elderflower champagne and another couple of gallons of cordial, on top of the five gallons of ale, three of wine and 5-10Lbs of jelly I have planned, I'll barely make a dent in what's out there.

Just starting to really come out here. I'm planning on an early morning wander off the beaten track to get to the best tree at the weekend. I think I should be able to gather enough for a couple of gallons each of champagne and wine.

Oddly the few tree in the town where I work aren't showing much sign of flowering and it's only 9 miles from home.

They're there but not flowering yet probably be another week before we see them up here in Siberia aka the North East, mind you we've just seen the last of the dandelions last week. To be honest I don't think I've ever seen the elderflowers not be blooming by June. Well worth the wait when they do arrive though at this rate I'll be picking blackberries and elderberry in December!

Good luck with your brewing and enjoy

Cheers

When I was out on my bike yesterday I noticed all the May blossom had fallen since last week and been replaced by loads of elderflower which certainly wasn't out last week. Everything is late this year though I think.
