This is a stout that is nothing more than Perfection in my book.
Well Balanced, perfect carbonation not alot but some, Not really any sediment to find. I know you reseeded this with yeast, but I can find any. A fine lace of a head deep coffee coloured that lasted the whole glass ( about 3 Mins )
The wife comments were "It just goes down" Take that however you find it. Subtle flavours, Coffee aroma mixed with abit of chocolate, Still has a bit of chocolate bitterness in the long finish.
But I have to disagree with you Tony, this Does not need to be served in tot's, We are all men we know our own limits let us make a choice of how much we drink!!! :drink: I want more, More I tell you!!
At least I have 38ltr of this maturing but I can't see it lasting any longer than 2 years if this is how good it is after that time, My only saviour is Someone from CBA offered me his cellar to hide some bottles in so I won't ever be able to get my hands on them.

I love this stout, Children should be brest feed this and the world will be a whole lot better!

That looks brilliant MD, I have to say that I want that to be the first of my Ag brews. When I am ready I do intend to have a word with Aleman.

Don't make it your first there's to much temptation to drink it! Make it after you have stocks up and make sure you have somewhere long long term to store it, And you won't regret it!

Sounds like a good idea, I've read about it, & heard about it. I suppose I should make ordinary stout first that I can drink, & "go for gold" (Black Gold) after.

All hail to the Ale, Man, :drink:
'Tis indeed fabulous  . MD does not do it justice with his glowing praises (no offence MD,maybe one more WOW), & I shall not try. It was like tasting an old single malt, (but better).
The man is a brewing encyclopedia, ten minutes & I was in overload, I would have stayed much longer but SWMBO was waiting in the car.
When I saw his breweries (plural) I did tell him that I hated him
Thanks Tony, I'll drop the bottle back, (I do have a 750ml bottle if you would like to fill that )

Mines stored away for the time being, looks too nice to drink!!
Might av it Easter Sunday (Special day for us catholics) so it deserves a special day to be drunk! ;)

I could not wait, chilled it, drank it, want much, much, more  I'm going to be a Godfather Easter Sunday . (they somehow think I'm responsible  )

I just had to open my iccle bottle of AM's RIS stout this evening, could resist no more.

Opened with no pop, but definite condition present, no head on pouring, therefore (shoot me tony) I gave it the pocket beer engine treatment.

Aroma was all too inviting a lovely sweetish bitter chocolate nose.
Tasting the first mouthful just explodes on your palate, I could feel my tongue screaming in ecstasy, bitter chocolate, then espresso then liquorice, then leather, and a lovely dry long lingering finish.

The liquid coats the side of the glass on the way back from a taste and seems to want to refuse to go back to the bottom of the glass.

I think I may have given this bottle a rub and a genie popped out as all my wishes have been granted.

The bottle when sat on the side is only tiny, but I tell you it the Tardis, is much much bigger on the inside.

Well done that man, are there any more you want tasting :?:

I Must admit to opening 1 of my keg's today for a cheeky sample along with the guests at the brewday, It's getting better But now I've tasted it I'm torn between waiting till it's wow or now and bloody good

Aleman kindly sent me one of his "Effin Imperial Stout Vintage of 2008".
What a beer this was
The bottle was smartly dressed in a full wrap around sexy number (label) with excellent wording and info about the brew...
I'd patiently waited until 20.00hrs Easter Sunday and using a clean palate I sampled this cheeky little brew from 2008.... And wow, was I impressed :thumb: The taste of liquorice was there, chocolate notes, and a beautiful aroma, it was a slightly sweeter brew than I would like but that's to be expected from a big beer like this, I also liked the way it clung to the glass all the way down leaving a coating on the sides, I would have licked it off if I could ;)
The beer also left a warm pleasant feeling in my belly like a spirit would, my only disappointment was the head, maybe I should have stored it a bit longer to get more carbonation...but hey, what the hell, it was only in the glass for 10 mins   10/10 Aleman :thumb:

Thanks for allowing me to sample it
BB

Well thank you for the glowing reviews Gentlemen . . . I take it that it has met with your approval

However Barnsleybrewer you have committed the grievous sin  Can anyone spot the problem with this photograph, and point out the error of his ways?

I was lucky to be given one of these holy grail bottles earlier this year but the inner beer monster opened it within 6 hours of receiving it, it was heaven in a glass, I don't think I will taste a beer like that again certainly not mine.

Tony shared a few of these around at The Spring Thing, but mine remains unopened down the cellar.

We're going chugabout for a while, so it will be added to the boat's provisions at the weekend.
