While trolling Ebay i found a site offering 'complete' starter kits, my questions are: is this a good basic starter kit to purchase.
Home Brew Online Starter Kit - Contents

Fermentation Container - For the initial brewing process, includes lid with grommet for airlock
Pressure Barrel - Finishes the fermenting process then stores and dispenses the beer
Plastic Stirrer - It takes a long spoon or paddle to mix the ingredients!
Syphon Tube - To transfer the beer from the Fermenter to the Barrel
Bubbler Airlock - Fill it with water, it lets the gasses escape and prevents contamination
Hydrometer - Lets you check on the alcohol content so you know when it's ready
Thermometer - Helps you keep your brew at the correct temperature
Steriliser - Ready to start? Clean your equipment to avoid contamination

Cost: £44.95 'buy it now' price.

Looking at purchasing one of the Muntons beer ranges to start off with, yes/no?

The company is the homebrew online shop - are they recommended by anyone as 'ok'?
Many thanks for your time - sorry if it's in the wrong section :whistle:

Looks like all the kit you need, - never heard of them either, the forum sponsors at the top are all very helpful why not approach them and have them price something up for you thats tailored for your needs. Matchless & BrewUk are most likely to do the same sort of thing.

Had a look on Flebay and seen the kit you have mentioned, I wouldn't say the kit isn't worth it, the barrel doesn't have a co2 valve.

Greg : BrewUK does this kit:

* Woodfordes Wherry Premium Beer kit
* Barrel with co2
* 33Ltr Fermenting bin + airlock
* Paddle
* Syphon
* Steriliser
* Hydrometer
* Thermometer
* Trail Jar
* 1 Gas charge + converter

Its well priced For £59.99 including a beer kit (no sugar needed) and pressure barrel with co2 valve!

If you were to buy the kit off ebay you would have to spend about £15 on the Muntons kit and sugars/spraymalt! so that would be about £60 to!

The homebrew shop has several auctions on eBay . . . be careful often the BIN price is considerably more than buying it from a known retailer. . . . the forum sponsors are a good place to start . . then you have the likes of Hop and Grape amongst others . . . The Hop Shop, Leyland Homebrew

That's the kit that I got DD.
Very pleased with it.
Service at BrewUK has been excellent (delivery in lesss than 24hrs from time of order!)
Greg and Tanya are very helpful as well.
If you do get your kit from there I would advise to add say a pack of Campden Tablets which you will probably want anyway, this will take your order over £60 and you'll get free delivery!
:cheers: NP

Just clicked your link DanDan :cheers:
I will be ordering my new Woodfordes starter kit tomorrow - thanks everyone :clap:
I will let you all know how i get on, thanks again :D
