I used the co2cartridges site. Delivery was pretty prompt but it's £5 delivery, which doubled the cost of my 10 cartridges.

I bought the 57.99 version (with the profi tap) from Leyland because of Wrongways post:

This is the setup I use for Sodastream or bottle. I can use either the Profi tap or the built in tap on the keg.

Think to have the choices between bulbs and cylinder is flexible and super easy.

I planned to cold crush the beer and fill it in the kegs, then carbonate it and after the conditioning I will fill them in bottles.

Good stuff. It'll be a few weeks before I have my first kegged pint so it'll be a while before I need any.

Any body tried nitrogen bulbs instead of co2? They are cheaper and seem to produce a better head for stout and malty beers.

Nice. 30 for 15? I just got 5 for 30!!! Japan is wickedly expensive!!! That's why I quickly changed to a 5 kg tank. Got the tank and the gas for 2,000 yen, that's like 12!? But buggered that because my regulator is from the states and didn't know Japan has their own threads, w22. So now an adapter is coming that'll let me use 2 different tanks.
As for those sodastream tanks, it looks like filling them and using them with an adapter is a cool way to go. It would be nice for BBQ and camping.

I use one of the Sodastream adapters and it works very well. As I keep a 5L keg in the kitchen fridge, a Sodastream bottle is a lot more convenient than my 7lb CO2 bottle in the garage. Not as convenient as a small 16gm bulb, but a hell of a lot cheaper.

Do you fill the 5l from your keg?

I planned to use forced carbonation in the Mini Keg as I won't use sugar for carbonating, but I'm not so sure anymore if this will work.

No. The last brew I did was 23ltrs so I filled 4 5l kegs and put the rest in bottles.

So far primed them with 12gm sugar but soon runs out of steam and needs a little CO2 help. What worries me is I am not sure what sort of pressure they can take. All sorts of stories about bulging kegs from over priming. Let's face it. They are designed as a disposable item.

Many things are, especially nowadays, but always remember that the British Seagull Outboard Motor was originally designed to start-up and push an assault craft loaded with troops across the Rhine.

After that it was "job done" and as far as the Army was concerned they could fall to bits ...

... but some of the WW2 models are still out there as noisy as hell, smoking like twitch heaps and still running! :thumb: :thumb:

As I've just invested good money in nine MK's I definitely don't regard them as "disposable"!
