Some of you will be aware that during AG#2 I had a Hop malfunction (the freezer erased the print on my Hop packets). I am now left with eaqual quantitys of each. As I have no idea which is which can I just mix them together and call them EAST KENT FUGGLES and use them for aroma hopping.

Yes go for it. Both are great for both bittering and aroma so have no worries.

Just keep an eye on the alpha acid for bittering. EKG tend to be around 5%-6% aa whereas Fuggles can be anywhere between around 3.5%-5.5% aa so you will have to have a guestimate. However if you are going for a beer with average bitterness then whether you are over or under your target then it will be fine.

Good luck

If you get the hops back up to room temp and then open them you will smell a difference between the two. The Fuggles will have a more blackcurrent aroma. You may also find that the Goldings will be stickier in both feel and in texture, as in there will be more of the twig as well as the hop cone.

Cheers
