Hi all, did a youngs special last week from GW book which states to dry hop with a few cones of target hops, 2 questions:
1: as Target are a bittering hop i thought the idea of dry hopping was to add aroma, any ideas.
2: how much is "a few cones"
johnluc.

all hops can be used for either bittering or aroma, it's just a recommendation really.

It's likely to just increase the presence of the hop itself. What beer is it? 20g is a safe bet

thanks for your reply Rob, its a special bitter, i asked the question because i read on here that quite a few members think that target hops are  , and i didn't want to spoil my brew.

hops are a very personal thing, i get a bit funny about some citrus hops in some recipes but some others love them - yet i like them in different recipes. So if u know u like a certain kinda hop or like the idea of it and it will work with the style add it instead- some brewing instructions are like cooking instructions and are just for guidance or if your not sure. it helps if u know which hops are in your fav/hated beers-look at their ag clones if unsure, hope it helps and didnt confuse the issue :)
