what amount of hops would i add to a kit and does it matter what kit i use - i`m drinking a geordie mild kit which is ok but lacks a bit of flavour - any ideas would be great!! :wha:

also the woodfordes is great so don`t tell me to use that kit!!

Milds don't tend to be overly hopped and I wouldn't have thought a dry hop addition would be particularly to style. Something like a best bitter or pale ale kit would benefit from a handful of goldings or fuggles though, to give them that fresher hop aroma.

Different people do it differently, some lob them straight into the FV or keg. An alternative is to put them in a (sanitised) hop sock or piece of muslin so you can fish them out easily after a few days (leave them too long and harsher flavours start to leech leaving grassy notes, apparently).

Or you can use kits from the likes of brupaks or brewers choice which come with some hops in a bag for you to boil in some of the wort.
