On Friday I dry hopped a cornie of XL Bitter with 10G EKG's - I've tried it tonight and OMG compared to the keg that isn't dry hopped it's awesome the hop aroma really does the job.

Credit for making me do it has to go to Smod, he dry hopped one of his Twin Rhombus that we brewed together and I could really tell the difference in the one that was and wasn't dry hopped.

I'll be experimenting with this now.

The only question....it's had 3 days now - do I leave it more?

If it's where you want it to be Wez take them out :thumb:
If you think it'll get better leave them :thumb:
I wouldn't leave them for more than a week though personally :hmm:

So thats where I went wrong left mine in till the beer was drunk and was not impressed :wha:

I always leave it til the keg is empty and i feel every pint gets better  Guess like everything in this great hobby, it's a matter of taste :D

I buy a fair bit of my hops in the form of plugs from the UK. I was under the impression that plugs are the size and shape they are so they can be popped through the spile hole of the cask? Another ultra late hopping method I use is to brew up a strong hop tea with 20g of flowers and add two days before bottling.

Works great with aromatic hops such as Cascade.

Dry hopping in the corny does sound like fun, must put it on the list to do

Putting them in a mini hopsock tied to dental string makes them easy to remove and doesnt effect the seal on your cornie.

Cheers Brad
