it looks to me as though the squares on the x axis are seperated equally. this would mean that the numbers would have to have the same amount of numbers between them

As LB did the graph for the hell of it, and as AM pointed out, it was fairly near the mark; I don’t see how it’s accuracy, or lack of, adds anything to this rather excellent "Build" thread. :wha:

As LB did the graph for the hell of it, and as AM pointed out, it was fairly near the mark; I don’t see how it’s accuracy, or lack of, adds anything to this rather excellent "Build" thread. :wha:

I was going to take the graph down after retourrbx pointed out its inacuracy but I can't be arsed doing another, plus it was only with one element and now it has two in the HLT I'm pretty sure it's gonna perform well come brew day. I plan on filling it from the hot water supply any who! :D

Fair fair matey, I hadn't really considered the spacing of the x-axis, saying that, that must be the first graph i've done in years! :D

Actually the problem is probably not you but the spreadsheet software. . . they tend to be better at line graphs / pie charts than line/series graphs. . . . they tend to take the X Axis series as absolute and display it as if the gaps between the values are a constant . . . whereas they often vary

agreed - ideally you'd have used graph paper and then scanned it in... i'll mark it for you if you want :thumb:

The plan looks to be coming together Leeds :clap:
There is a formula in the Graham Wheeler book for calculating heating times, temperature rise etc. with known power, kilowatts. Can't put my hand on it at moment, but someone will be able to.
Also if anyone is converting a cylinder like yours and have the power to run 2 times 3kw Toolstation do a brass boss in 2 /4 bsp for less than two quid :D . I had to chop another cylinder when I did mine. :(

Well the time is nearly upon me! the 1st brew is sheduled for Saturday coming (5/3/11) :D :D :D Ordering the plate chiller and hop stopper parts tomorrow morning.

the 1st brew will be a half brew (40L) of London Porter! :D :D The recipe is for Meantime London Porter. I was listening to the CYBI episode on the BN. I've just added a bit of oat malt (cos i've got it!)

Well, yesterday I ordered the Plate HX from Germany (via ebay), a new digital thermometer from thethermometersuperstore.co.uk, the #40 mesh for the hop stopper from Inoxia, and some grain and yeast for the 1st brewday from thethriftyshopper.

That was at 10:30AM yesterday. I have had a shipping invoice from Germany emailed at 06:47AM this am, my thermometer arrived at 09:00AM and my grains and yeast turned up via parcelfarce at 01:00PM! :D :D

now that is service

I'm a happy chap!

Could you understand yours?????. I ordered my Plate Chiller Friday night and at 07.45am Saturday I recieved my invoice but it was in German :grin: .

I used OpenOffice, as I'm a Linux geek.
I've never used Apple Numbers so I don't know what it's capable of. When creating the chart, you need to select something like "X/Y Graph" or "Scattergraph". Most spreadsheets I've seen are capable of scatter graphs. Fewer are able to put the nice neat line on though.
