Double brew day

As SWMBO is away I thought was a great chance to do a double brew day.

Water is just heating up for a Hopback Summer lightening from GW's book.

5672g Marris Otter
46g Challenger
15g EK Goldings

23L Biab with 90 min mash at 66c, mash out for 10 min at 78c then a 90 min boil.


Then while that is mashing I'm going to have my first go at a Turbo Cider

All went well, ended up over target on the OG but given me some good figures for BIABabacus as I get to know my new boiler properly.

Was aiming for 1.049 but came in at 1.055. Not sure on the volume yet but think it will be a little short so need some adjustments there.

1.053 - 1.055 with temp correction so over target - not particularly clear but will be fine once fermented.

Looks good! What size pot is that? SWMBO would go potty if I boiled on the hob... :whistle:

It's a 50 litre pot from the malt miller. Great bit of kit!

Luckily the kitchen is very much my domain so SWMBO doesn't get much say in what I do in it :)
