Does DR go off?

Hi there,

I've got half a pack of DR that has been in a tupperware in my fridge since August. It's from.my extract days but would like to use it to make a starter. Will it be ok to use? I've got an unopened pack but seems a waste if this stuff is ok.

What is DR? is it some dry malt extract?

My Auto Correct is awful. I meant Dry Malt Extract!

If it looks, smells and tastes ok then I would use it for a starter myself.

If it hasn't clumped then it's absolutely fine. DME is massively hygroscopic so if it's still a powder you know it's got very little outside intervention and your sugary preservative has been preserved.
