Going to strain my Blackcurrant Wine tomorrow and wondered if its best to sterelise or not. If so boiling water or the sterilising tablets?. Was going to do this tonight but realise I've only got one bubbler and its attatched to my elderberry wine

I use a plastic jug from the fermenting bucket through a nylon flour sieve into the straining bag which is inside a large funnel.

The sieve removes the majority of the fruit pulp, and I press that pulp with the back of a stainless steel or plastic spoon.

If you are using sterilising tablets then the jug, sieve, funnel and spoon all need a good soak and then thorough rinsing, mine just get sprayed with a Videne solution.

While I'm getting everything else ready, my straining bag goes into a large pan of boiling water and gets simmered for 10 minutes.
