I've used heat shrink caps on mine and they do look nice, but I just hate buying the things. I've also used old foil caps but they seemed fiddly, bits get stuck but I can at least recycle them.

Has anyone used wax on their bottles? It dawned on me that if I did then I could just save up the wax and use it again - and again. But does it get in the way of opening a bottle or cleaning it up afterwards?

It isn't candle wax, but is more like a cheese wax, and you can buy 1kg of that for £12. But you can re-use it.

I like the shrink caps, they take seconds to put on. Just a pan of boiling water and I have a bent plastic knife to hold the cap in place in the water. after 4 seconds done. I only use them on bottles I plan to age for a long time or give away so not bothered about the cost.

Not used wax but it was used traditionally to seal bottles. I imagine it's a bit a pain to get even and avoid runs etc. and you would want a seal stamp if you're going to that much trouble.
