im getting sick of half a keg of cloudy beer before I get any clear beer through my kegs is there something I'm missing I've just been legging straight from the primary into the cornie even after 6 weeks I'm getting cloudy beer about 10 pints in. The sediment must be being sucked up the tube but is there a way to overcome this problem (
Put a u bend on the tube ? ) or just clear in a secondary fv then keg ?

I don't have this problem, the forst pint can sometimes be cloudy but after that it's fine.

I always brew a bit more than I need, so can leave the last few pints in the fermenter without disturbing the trub. I run off through a tap in the fermenter so little chance of disturbing the trub on the bottom.

I also chill my beer down to about 1C for a few days before transferring, this helps to drop the yeast out and pack the yeast tightly on the bottom of the FV.

The other thing you could do, is trim half an inch off the bottom of your dip tube. I haven't found this necessary but I know some people do that.

Yep, the same for me and relatively the 'norm'
Are you racking too early W, has the ferment stopped?
By the fact you are getting clear beer it doesn't sound like an infection issue.

i have a similar issue at the minute

normally i rack to another FV but this time i racked straight to cornie, seems cloudy atm been in there since 15/11/11

i filled a pint pot left it over night and i got an inch or so clearing

i do not use finnings as im a vege

ill give ti time, and i have 2 in bottles aswell but there brown so unable to see, ill draw off a half in a bit and let it warm

hows the OP getting on
