Hi again all

Im about ready to bottle my first kit, I have my crown caps and tool. Just no bottles

So Im going to have to use my keg. Now 40 pints will take me a couple of months unless I get the taste for it lol.

So its got to last in the keg.

It has a valve on the top but all I could find in the shop was single use bullet type c02 things at £5 for 10 and £18 for the tool to use them. NOT A CHANCE AM I PAYING THAT!

Now do I really need to c02 the keg?

Also once its in the keg can I draw some off and bottle it?

Cheers
Craig

somthing has to replace the the space in the keg, if it's air in contact with your beer then it will stale very quickly. this is one of the reasons we use CO2.

If youre drinking a well primed barrel at a rate of 4 or 5 pints a week it should keep itself gassed up enough to dispense the majority of the beer but you may struggle with the last 5 or so pints.
