Just posted a response in another thread which has raised a question in my mind :hmm: If you leave a BIAB ale for longer than a few months, are they any good????
I usually use plenty of late American hops so I expect to lose the fresh, aromatic characteristics after a few months. Obviously I get it drunk 'cos I brew regularly enough to always have beer in hand.
Does anyone have experience of leaving BIAB ales for a longer time. What happen to them?

Well Im a BIABer, never left my beer in bottles for more than 4 months but BIAB is simply an alternate way of producing wort.
The only difference is the method of the mash so I don't see any reason why a BIAB beer would age any differently than a beer made with traditional 3V methods?

unless Im missing something?

Like you mentioned hop flavour/aroma fade with time so lower gravity hoppy beers are best younger than dark and/or higher gravity ones.
