folks,
I have seen people making diy hopbacks from an inline water filter, this all looks easy enough to do and is pretty cheap. Im thinking of a small 12v pump to push hot wort into the filter( or out, not decided yet) but am concerned that the max temp of all the inline filters I can find is about 45 degrees. This is obviously not hot enough for wort, even if chilled to 85 to allow for max hop aroma retention. I’m wondering if using one of these at this temperature is going to be ok and the rating is because they use an internal filter which I would not be using (going to use a stainless steel hop filter instead).
