Hi All,

I've just downloaded the DIY Dog 101 Book and am keen to get started on a clone of one of their beers over the christmas break.

However, there's a part on each recipe that say Twist

For example

Lactose 125g Middle
Sour cherries 187.5g Middle

I get what it is saying almost but I'm not sure if they mean middle of the boil?

Any advice?

Cheers!

I don't think anyone does I'd guess if it's a 60 min boil then 30 mind from end

Yes it's middle of the boil, same goes for the hops. I usually play about with the hop profile in Brewers Friend until I get the IBUs right.

Having said that, I've only brewed one beer from it so far by I have 2 lined up over the next few months.

I very much doubt it is as simple as it being the middle of the boil from looking at the recipes and I'd bet it differs per recipe. They're never going to give us the exact recipe spec so we have to interpret it the best we can.

I usually put the middle of the boil additions at 15 min from the end, seems to work ok. And the ibu's ect seem to be closer at that timing

Not sure yet, bottling original punk as we speak whilst drinking punk. Smells similar in the fv from what I can remember

I'll let you know how it turns out. The original ended up about 5.6% on my biab setup bit less than the original

Got another malt miller recipe kit for the original I'm going to brew tomorrow, I might dry hop this with chinook and see how that turns out
