Hello fellow members of the brewers guild!
Now I know that a few of us here are avid readers of Terry Pratchett Books,
So I'm wondering what would make the best "Discworld" beers?
This is just for fun And the love of brewing not commercial rape of our noble craft!
Or abusing Sir Terry's creations!
Phew ! Hope that keeps the lawyers of me back or I might have to contact the assassins guild!

Detritus.....................a Scottish Heavy big boddied but no head......Rock Ale

Corporal Cuthbert St.J Nobbs.... a weak ale with a kick at the end...... Nobby's Brew

Sergeant Frederick Colon.............has to be a Stout...........................Colon Gripe

Havelock Vetinari................a must have drink.....................................The Scorpions Pit

Gaspode the talking dog........hard to brew due to the infections its prone to..........Licky End

LOL there excellent, be a few years since I've read any discworld books, I can't recall any specific description of the beer. There have been some good recreations of drinks from fiction "Graf" from Steven King's Books for example.

Angua.........the werewolf....................Moonshine

Love the Disc World...this lot on here get more like it every day...

What about Nanny Ogg???

NanngOgg.jpg

Broomstick IPA??....Magic Steam beer??

I did wonder if it was possible to knock up some of Nanny Ogg's scumble. Smelling faintly of apples but with the added ability of stripping paint. Maybe an apple wine with a high alcohol yeast. :)

:drink:

Definitely. Although if they implement the minimum price per unit.....it could be the most expensive cider IN THE WORLD. Perhaps best as a home concocted tipple, swigged from old 7UP bottles under bridges.

:drink:

Nanny Ogg....... with the surprise ingredient of 12 Oysters ( mind you they don't all work ! ) ... Ogghams Nog
Granny Weatherwax. a wheat beer made with wheat from her OWN TURF....... Esmes's Effinfinger

What about a nice strong stout ;
"TIME GENTLEMEN PLEASE!" Guess who? ;)

What about a nice banana wheaty for the Librarian ?

When I think of "the broken drum" I picture a proper old inn , dark and filled with pipe smoke and all sorts of dark corners and foaming pints of ale.

Can't imagine a disc world ale being of "session" strength!

Ale making is probably handled by the Dunny King.

TP should definitely write a novel about prohibition hitting Ankh Morpork.

:drink:

The Broken Drum....where the smoke fills the air, too afraid to touch the walls.....

Librarian....a pale ale with a slightly banananananana aroma.................Oook Ale

Secretary Drumknott........the perfect accompaniment to any organised drinking session........ hmmm..... Drumknotts Drop

Rincewind.............I see it as a well travelled IPA smelling slightly of far off places... RincewindXXXX

If you do well at this I work a few doors away from http://www.discworldemporium.com/ there are regular disc world do's I'm sure they be of interest.

The people that attend the do's drink the local pubs dry of hobgoblin.

Thanks for the link... :thumb: the things you find on the net....
The whole Disc World saga is great....all I can say is "Thanks to Sir Terry".
