Diluting wort after the boil?

Well I've done a 19litre boil today and was happy to see it hit 100 degrees!

I may have to go electric though, as it's blooming annoyingly slow! I'm not sure I trust all that water and an electrical connection though

I felt the same way but after fitting two elements to my copper, I'd never go back. Besides, water is a fundamental part of a kettle's design and I guess you're not concerned about using one of them?

You've guessed right mate the kettle is always on if I'm not having a pint ;)

My issue is more to do with a lack of confidence in me putting it together well, e.g. getting a good seal that will survive the odd knock etc

yes I do that at the moment doing a 19l brew means about 26l of wort in my tea urn and that only gives me an inch or so to play with. Lots of splashing during the boil.
So I put 4 or 5 litres in a jug and add a bit every so often as the boil proceeds. For an hours boil I try and make sure the whole lot is added after 30 mins so all the wort gets a good boil.
Its not ideal, but needs must....
