Bit of a clanger chaps.

meant to just top off the FV a litre, but forgot it was a 2 litre bottle (derrr!), in my anger I forgot to check the SG afterwards and pitched. ive got a feeling its still gonna be a nice strong beer. I was aiming for brewersfriend recipe builder 1.049 anyhow.

the OG was a stonking 1.074! does anyone have a rough idea what the latest OG would be with this extra water. is there a calculation I can do?

Cheers

We don't know what your starting volume is. Basically take the starting points, multiply by your starting volume then divide by the new volume

new grav points = orig grav points * orig vol / new vol

So if your starting batch was one litre and you added a litre -> 74 * 1 / 2 = 37 -> 1.037 is your gravity.

For 22 litres -> 74 * 22 / 23 -> 70.8 -> 1.071
