Hello

I've just started and my first batch was Brupak IPA. One thing puzzles me. Some kits eg Brupak cost about £24 whilst other eg Better Brew cost about half that. Is there a big difference in quality or are they different types of product eg the more expensive kits require less work?

Two can kits are generally better quality due, in no small part, to the hopped wort being half as concentrated. You get what you pay for.

With a one can kit you need to buy extra brewing sugars. With toucans you don't. the price difference is not then that great. Toucan kits are the DB of kit beers.

I did twig but it took me a while.

I'm thinking of doing a Czech pilsner (I like IPA in the winter and Czech pilsner in the summer). So I'm assuming a two can pack would be best though the Better Brew kit has good reviews. I have to brew at normal room temps 18* so lager type yeast is not possible.

Lager kits use ale yeast in general so you needn't worry about the temperatures usually required for lagering.
