Every time I make red wine it comes out more a dark pink or light red
I can always see thru the wine whereas shop bought reds are deep maroon/red and opaque.
Supermarket juice wines, Hedgerow wines all suffer and even the pricier kits I find are still on the pale side.

Anyone experience this issue?
Short of painting the wine glass or making beetroot only wine anyone aware of a remedy?

The deep red from shop bought wines comes from having the skins of the grapes in contact with the juice for a long time. If you want to darken your wine you can use grape concentrate. Some of the more expensive kits also have grape skins in them, to get the same result. Ther's no hedgerow ingredient with that amount of colour within the skin.

I have been experimenting with red grape juice when I can find it right enough.
It's made a bit of a difference but perhaps I need to use more, or maybe the concentrate is a better if pricier route.
