just had a dark star espresso rich coffee beer all i can say is it is a five star beer.it was voted national champion in the speciality beer class in 2009 very nice beer :drink:

I have had the pleasure of visiting The Evening Star in Brighton on several occasions which is the Dark Star brewery tap. Their ales have plenty of flavour with that hoppy taste I personally like and their American Pale is fantastic.

I was out in york last night and had a pint of there hophead which was really nice, then half of there russian imperial stout which was also nice but i tend to be leaning toward lighter and hoppier beers at the moment

I'm lucky in that my local nearly always has a Dark Star ale on.

Personal favourite is their Hophead. Light in colour, very hoppy with slight citrus notes. Delicious, but deceptively easy to drink.

A friend is organising a camping/brewery tour trip early next year which is already oversubscribed. Good beer always attracts a crowd.

I did a brewery tour with a group in the summer. They are super relaxed people and very open with the brewery. They let us walk around and look at everything and the brewer was a very cool dude who answered all questions. They also plied us with copious amounts of everything they had which was nice. When we left we were all given a 12 pack of experimental bottles of HopHead each to take home and asked to provide feedback as they were thinking about releasing it. Awesome brewery and awesome people... :thumb:
