Dalex tap Question

On a dalex tap, what does the rotating sleeve do? And where can I get sparkler nozzles from?

i've not got one, but i think they control the flow rate? :wha:

if all the usual suspects have failed, give Paul at Barley bottom a ring... he's got some ale pump sparklers, i'm sure he can source dalex tap ones, or try hop and grape... Patsy's really helpful :thumb:

edit - i just googled dalex tap sparkler.... the result i came to was that they are built in :wha:

I have some dalex taps, the knurled ring under the lever does indeed control the flow.
The sparklers are fitted inside the nozzle of the tap, the ones that came with mine are green :)

Righty, so thats the flow control thingy then, thanks.

Having unscrewed the lower part of the tap there is no insert, so do I need one? The very end of the removable part has an external thread which made me think that was where a sparkler fitted, now I think I might have a Dalex tap with some random spout, same size thread as on my Alumasc tap and the spout off that fits.

So, I need to get either something to go on that external thread or an insert?

Sounds like you have the other version of the tap.

I have the one with the sparkler in the nozzle (little green thing) you can remove it.

The one you have sounds like the sparkler fits to the thread on the nozzle.

I think its the Mk II or Mk III tap you have because I have one as well (I can't read which one as it has faded with use on mine). The knurled ring at the back of the tap does indeed control the flow rate. . . . . and the sparkler is the same sort that screws onto a hand pump . . . I switch mine between the two at will . . . Paul should be able to sort you out
