First brew today with Beior yeast. It was a random kitchen sink brew... I wonder how it'll turn out.

Any advice on what to expect or how to handle it? It's going to be a mid brown/red ale

I use it as my house ale/bitter yeast especially so that I can serve from a bag through the beer engine. It does not over attenuate mine usually end up @ .10 up or down depending on SG.
I tend to ferment to about 3.8% for my ales/bitters.
It gives a nice slightly fruity finish and is good in keg beer too.
I just sprinkle on or jar some slurry and use about 3 or 4 times so cost is virtually pence

I've used it once I think in a stout and it turned out fine.
I too will be placing another CML order soon.
A recent observation with CML and 5 on kegging vs bottling. They've both dropped crystal clear within a week on being kegged.

That's my view. I have some of the house yeast that they sent me for free - I ordered everything for a Stout recipe, but not yeast, because I already had loads in. But they obviously thought I'd forgotten and threw some in.

Thanks. I've been hearing nice things about it so got some when CML looked like they might be closing up for good.

This is starting at 1.046, so looking for a nice easy drinker in the 4-4.5% range.

I like the idea of a fruity finish too.
I'm going to dry hop with some citra, but a nice other dimension sounds good.

£2 per sachet from CML is peanuts to me so not worth trying to faff about with slurry given my brewing schedule. I'd only use it twice in a year
