Hey everyone,

I am just after a bit more information.

I have nukatap with a stout nozzle and bought the creamer discs to go with it.

The discs that come are as below:

1 x 0.3mm Drilled Disc with 3 x holes
1 x 0.3mm Drilled Disc with 5 x holes
1 x 0.5mm Drilled Disc with 1 x hole
1 x 0.5mm Drilled Disc with 3 x holes
1 x 0.5mm Drilled Disc with 5 x holes
1 x 0.7mm Drilled Disc with 1 x hole
1 x 0.7mm Drilled Disc with 3 x holes

I am trying to get more information on when to use each one.

Guinness from what I've found serving from keg recommend 5 holes with 0.25mm disc so my closest one would be the 5 x 0.3mm

However let's say John Smith Extra Cold served on 30/70 is recommended to go through a creamer of 5 holes x 0.78mm. Would the 5 hole at 0.5mm or 3 hole at 0.7mm be more comparable?

This got me thinking. I don't even know the variables. Could anyone explain to me what the value of amount of holes has / what the variable does and what the diameter of these holes means for the dispensing of the beer?

Is it pour speed to do with the amount of holes? Whilst the smaller holes create a more dense head? What is the single hole creamer discs for etc?

Thanks

I also bought these but have no idea about the application. Tried searching but couldn't find anything.

My thinking is more/larger holes bring more nitrogen out of suspension before the liquid reaches the glass so would result in a denser head.

Maybe one to test and find your personal preference? I'm nearly out of my Irish Red on mixed gas so can't test myself. Will keep an eye on this thread if you do find anything.
