I bought my second Youngs brew buddy kit from Tesco's yesterday @ £7.97.

Surely a misprint I thought.

Nope, rang through at £7.97.

For that you get a FV, lager kit (single can but nevermind), Syphon tube, hydrometer and steralising solution.

That's the second kit I've bought at that price. Good for Xmas pressies.

Here's the kit on their website: http://www.tesco.com/direct/brewbuddy-s ... d=207-4096

They retail at £26 so someone's mucked up the pricing instore I reckon.

I only went in for a FV (Wiclo's were selling the FV's at £10 so I tried Tesco's!)

Result!

Thanks for that, got one :thumb:

Purchase price probably covers the FV and the cleaner/steriliser powder. Syphon tube is too short to be of any practical use but I'd lost my bucket clip, a spare hydrometer is always handy, and the 'beer' kit is effectively free.

I use that word in its loosest sense, but I'll brew it short as a blonde ale with some spraymalt, an ale yeast and a hop tea.

No worries Moley.

I may buy some more as cheap Xmas pressies are hard to come by nowadays.

Brewing the King and Barnes Old Ale soon from Dave Line's book.

Do you know if you have to add sacharin tablets anymore?

At £7.97 its a good price for a spare plastic 25 litre bucket if nothing else. Then you could wrap the beer kit up itself and give that away as a christmas present....

I have tried two different tescos in stevenage and neither of them have the brew buddy kits  its a great pick up if anyone can get them.

quote....

The can has no label on it so would look like a poor present unfortunately.

Well I'm from Yorkshire folks would expect that ! :D
