so I just did my second and third kit- first one was started last week.

one of the ones today was the coopers aussie lager. We pitched the yeast and were wondering why the hydro reading was so low and then we realised we hadnt added the sugar!!

so I added it in after the yeast and stirred it till it had mostly dissolved. Took a couple of minutes cos of the lower temps. there were a few small lumps of sugar left by the time I was done and obviously I have now stirred in the yeast too.

Is this one doomed?

thanks

:hmm: its not completely doomed but for optimum results you need to stir the sugar in with the hot water next time to form a wort, as for your current batch it might take a little longer to ferment or will not turn out too strong due to the yeast dying before it has a chance convert all the sugar

give it a couple of weeks then take a hydrometer reading you might be lucky
