Relations of victims are calling for an enquiry now; not much later as the government are saying. Will any such enquiry
1. Be independent
2. Not take years to conclude
3. Be published
4. Point blame where wrong decisions have been made.
5. Make recommendations for future ways of managing a health crisis.
6. Have teeth to make things happen.
Etc

There's an awful lot of handling of Covid-19 that hasn't gone well for the government. Each country is doing their own thing, even British devolved powers are going about it differently to some degree. No government has got everything right in their handling of this virus, yet some get it more wrong than others. There was no precedent.

I hope what comes out of this is a not a slanging match but something constructive where those in power can learn from their mistakes and/or successes and those of others. I hope they accept that methods and policies can be better (things can always be better) and apply some learning in ongoing government, rather than burying their heads or disowning what they've done.
