Hi

I just stripped down some kegs I recently bought and the poppets didn't just fall out as I expected after watching some youtube videos.

Here is a photo of the inside of them.

Any ideas ?

Do you mean push in from the same direction as the disconnect ?

What's the best tool for releasing the legs?

Finally, do I really need to do this every time I clean the keg or only when there is a problem with sealing and need to replace the o ring ?

Cheers

Go in from the underside. If you push on one leg the poppit will probably fall out. A little wiggle is all they need. I use needle nose pliers as they work well.

You don't need to do it often. As long as you flush the Kegs through properly with a good cleaner between uses you will be fine.

the O rings do need to be checked often, but the poppets do not need removing on every fill. Just chuck the whole lot in a bowl of sanitizer each time you clean the keg.
