Hi all.

Looking at upgrading to a corny keg system, but I am worried that co2 may be hard to come by where I live.

Does anyone else live in North Essex/South Suffolk area, and can you get gas easily?

It has been suggested that I could use a corny with an s30 fitting, but no-one seems to rate them; is this because it takes a lot of gas, or are there other problems with them?

There is a thread on here for where to find gas and as you are around the Wiltshire.Swindon area not more than a 50 mile radius then air liquid is for you and bloody cheap as chips.a pub bottle around £15 delivered and no rental,I'll see if I can dig the link out

liquide air have agents all over the country generally £0-£50 bottle deposit (varies) and £23 per refill/exchange, so your first bottle may cost you upto £75 but £50 is deposit you can get back on returning the bottle without exchanging. (Keep the reciept tho..)

as a bottle should last a few years with a single keg its very good VFM ;)

avoid monthly contracts if offered -very expensive in the long run.

trouble is,like you say air liquids charge very different rates at different outlets, the one in Swindon are very charitable but will only deliver within a 50 mile rad from their depot( spoke to them and my local outlet on telephone)

Ahh if you expect delivery then your options will be severely limited, co2 bottles fall into a special category when it comes to commercial delivery. its a 2 minute over the counter transaction, just like exchangibg a calor gas bottle.. and depending on situation may take another 5 mins for the bottle to be delivered to the counter or your car boot. But without your own transport could be a problematic errand to run.

Andover Patio Centre will supply a bottle without a deposit but thats even a bit more of a drive than swindon from essex.. its worth the 1/2 tank of go juice and an afternoons drive from here tho ;)
