Good evening Folks

I have had a quick search on the forum without any success.

I want to buy a fridge from Curry's, Argos or Tesco that will hold two corny's. (not the Co2)
I am struggling to find the internal distentions on the websites and I won't be able to visit the shops with my cut out discs of cardboard anytime soon.

Do any of you know a manufacture and model number of a fridge that will hold two or three corny's without the need for cutting bits off.

Regards

Matt

I never found that info either when i started looking. Personally i would look on gumtree. Picked up 2 very tidy massive fridges on there. You can ask the seller for dimensions although i think they are pretty much similar. I could only get 2 cornies in a standard under the counter fridge. I can get 6 in a tall fridge with space left.

Thank you for the reply Beercat. I would just rather order one on-line that I know will work size-wise. I have a couple of friend that have under counter fridges that I have measured and the corny wouldn't fit due to moulded plastics.

Space for two cormy's would be fine if anyone has the info.

Cheers

Matt

Hi Stephenj

I thought about that but I thought a fridge would sort out the temp control being easier to manage.

Thanks

Matt

A chest freezer and inkbird controller would work well. I use mine as a fermentation chamber and put the keg in it for dispense afterwards. The inkbird allows me to just dial in the desired temperature.

Due to space limitations I had to get a small freezer and it only fits one keg but bigger ones are of course available.

Mine came from Currys and I actually went down there with my fermentation vessel to see if it would fit happily and make sure that the lid opened enough to lift it in and out without disturbing the sediment. They were very happy for me to do this.

I’m now looking at order fridges on gumtree. I want one that can take 4 cornies. If I get one it means I can have 6 kegs on at any one time. Trouble is, I only have 5 kegs!

You’ll have to buy another one!

Normal fridge freezer or the chest larder variety? I've been looking for the later as the freezer part not really needed but not many in NE area

Six foot high fridge, there’s one in Jarra that someone is willing to deliver.

If buying new i would consider a small chest freezer bearing in mind it will probably require a 4x2 or 6x2 constructed collar to increase the internal height to accommodate disconnects and beer/gas lines. And a weekly/biweekly exchange of the towel dropped in the bottom to absorb any condensation that the freezer is incapable of handeling.

however i think the best option is to freecycle/gumtree a free cheap fridge and deal with what you have got. I think most will acc0mmodate 2 x cornies ok any more will be a bonus..

UPDATE... LOL...

So I bought the biggest under the counter fridge that I could see. 85x55x56 and is 121 litres. I thought that this would be big enough. When it arrived I unpacked it, put the two kegs in and.... couldn't shut the door. I haven't got the knowledge or skill to **** about chopping bits off so I decided to pack it back up and send it back.

That night, very heavy rain and for the first time, the garage flooded damaging the packaging (but not the fridge) so I didn't feel comfortable returning it.

Currently drinking a cold IPA from my large one keg fridge thinking... that didn't go to plan!!!!

Pass me the dremel....

Cheers

Matt
