corking screw tops

im just about to bottle my first wine kit and have saved a load of bottles but mainly screw tops is there any problems corking them

The necks on screw-top wine bottles are thinner than corked ones and not suitable for corks, much easier to use the nova-twist caps, lots of info here:

I cork screw tops and have done for years and haven't had a problem, but I recently tried novatwist and have to say they are so much easier to fit than corks and a corker.

Four of the bottles on the left in this pic are corked screw tops.

There has been some debate about corking screw tops, the thinner neck has been mentioned and also the internal diameter may be bigger, I use novatwist caps and have used them many times over.

Going to try the corks first as I'm already set up for them but I like the sound of the novatwist tops and will more than likely try them next

Get a cork and test it in the top of the bottles, some have narrower openings and the corks will be too tight.
