Hi there,

First timer here so be gentle...

I have been looking around and trying to do as much research as poss and have settled on a Coopers DIY with the Wheat Beer Kit.

I am keen to try and get some of the classic characteristics of a wheat beer (Banana and Clove) but also want to make sure i get the Wheat character.

I plan on using the following :

1 x Coopers Wheat Beer 1.7kg
1 x Coopers Wheat Malt Extract 1.5kg
Wyeast 3068 Weihenstephen Weizen

Going to try and ferment at 66 - 70 degrees

My questions is...

Do I need to add any more sugar/DME ?

I plan on using the Coopers bottles and priming at the rate of 4.0 Volumes (6g per 500ml bottle).

Will make sure to post on brew day and first taste... Note sure how long I will be able to hold out though..... :drink:

Thanks Proost. Had a good read through both and the end result look really good, well done.

Just one questions, so what was the recipe you ended up using ? Did you follow the advice Pittsy gave and use the Wheat and the Crystal and then the hops ? Also was it the WB-o6 yeast ?

Cheers

Sorry for the delay in replying and I see its too late to tell you my recipe. Also should have said look at my thread in "Reviews A-Z List"

Look in Beer Kit Reviews, Coopers Wheat Beer, Page 54, 12/04/14. As this is your first brew, you have done the right thing and kept it simple.

Hope it comes out OK.
Good Luck and give us an update.
