Hi Im new on here and to brewing so first a quick hello   , I was just wondering if anyone has any advise i have just finished fermenting 23 litres of coopers stout which i did using 1kg of sugar, i was wondering if i could put some more sugar or treacle even honey in the king keg before i transfer and if so how much would be wise cheers

Welcome to the forum. You will want to put some priming sugar into the keg. How much you put in will depend on how fizzy you want it, although there is a limit to how fizzy you can make beer in a plastic keg. I've not brewed stout but I'd use about 100g for 23L.

This kit is very good as it stands, but next time instead of 1Kg of sugar, you could try adding 1.5Kg of fermentables, which can include things like treacle, muscavado sugar, DME or LME.

Next time I make it, I'm planning to use 500g molasses sugar, 640g LME and 500g brewing sugar to see how that comes out. The time after that, a tin of dark treacle, 500g DME and 640g LME.

Welcome to the forum.

I am in the process of conditioning my coopers irish stout. For some of the bottles I used the carbonation drops - a bit disappointed tbh, but for some of my bottles I put 1tsp dark mascavda sugar per 500ml and its absolutely fantastic, tasted a bottle over the weekend, fantastic carbonation and awesome head retention. A definate winner for a stout.

Cheers
