Hi,

I have been brewing a coopers pilsner 20ltrs for about 5 days now, instead of the said 23ltrs and it seems to have stopped...its in the cupboard uner the stairs and have been no lower than 19°...usually I have seen brews go well over a week in the first fv before needing to be bottled and I don't want to break the seal on it as it is a closed vessel.

Should I pop the top on it and check? Or do you think the yeast may have stopped and it be ready for bottling?

Hope it's got enough % to do the job.

OG was 1044

you need to check the gravity with a hydrometer if its not finished yet give it a stir with something sterile and keep warm

Thanks for the advise...It was stuck at 1020...I've given it a little stir and there seems to be a little movement...I will measure it again tonight to confirm.

Actually Coopers Pilsner has a lager yeast and should be fermented at 12-14C. What did the instructions say?
