Good Morning all
My first ever brew Coopers Irish Stout has now been on the go for a week and is still burping about once every 15/20mins.I brewed the kit with beer enhancer as suggested by my local brew supplier. The wort has been kept at a temp of approx 22c.The instructions say that it should be ready to bottle in 7 days but obviously in this case it is still in 1st ferment stage. The OG was 1035 at start and yesterday the hydrometer reading was approx 1010.As Im a newbie how long do you think I should leave the brew before bottling?
Due to space in our kitchen and me stealing precious areas in her domain I am picking up a larder fridge today to use as a Fridge fermenter and have ordered all the gizmos required for my DIY project!!As the fridge has glass shelves has anybody used a plastic caravan step to put the FV on with the tube heater below? Also what wattage tubular heater do you all use?
Sorry to ramble on look forward to your responses :drink:

Hi Shipstone
I did this kit before Christmas and I loved it, would defo do again. I dont know about Ferm Fridges but I would leave the brew fermenting for about 2 weeks if you can or until you get 2 or 3 steady grav readings.
I then had mine in bottles for a couple of weeks outside and it tasted great.

Good luck.
