just started to drink my 2 month old european (just to test it of course  ) and its VERY VERY gassy. Its ok once poured and tastes great, however pouring it is another matter. No matter how slow i pour, it just fills the glass or jug with froth.

With regards to priming i used half a teaspoon per pint, all mixed in with boiling water before bottling to ensure even carbonation (as i have done with all my other brews).

Is the euro lager typically very gassy? or have i made a mistake somewhere along the line?

Either way its going to happily get drunk :thumb:

if you chill the beer really cold it should help as it will disolve the gas into the beer and it will release as it warms up in the glass.

i have chilled it and its just daft. Impossible to pour. I'll have to video it for you to see. Im sure ive done something wrong somewhere.

once poured it doesnt seem that gassy now though.

It sounds as though you have either over primed, or if as you say you measured the primings carefully then the main fermentation may not have completely finished and any remaining fermentables were converted to CO2 in the bottle giving rise to the beer being excessively gassy :(
