Hi all im new to brewing and recently did a Coopers Lager can. Followed the instructions and kept to a strict practice of hygene. However my fg is 1002? It seems quite low. Primary fermentation was started on the 23.03. The beer is lovely and clear but i did notice some sediment sitting on the beer almost looks like the yeast granuals..... any advice?

That seems a rather low FG.
Have you checked your hydrometer? It should read 1.000 in water at 20C.
Where are you noticing the yeast granules? In the bottom of the bottle?
If it's nice and clear and tastes OK that's good.
But really if you started it on 23rd March it's a bit young to be drinking it.
How long did you ferment it for?

The beer was still in the primary fermentation vesel. Took another sample and it tasted very dry and there was a spirit taste and smell which had developed. Actually didnt taste nice at all, so i think there was a infection. Dumped it and took it as a learning experience.

OK, maybe don't be as hasty throwing them away in future. It might have been OK.
Hard to tell really.
Did it taste off at all?
As for the smell you do get odd smells off the brews at times. The Coopers Euro lager and I suppose other lagers get a rotten egg smell.
Which Lager kit did you have. Just the one that comes with a kit?
