Over the past few months I've been inspired by TheElectricBrewery.com to build my own kettle and control panel.

One part of their setup is to use an Omega / Eagle countdown timer.

Looking around they seem pretty expensive or hard to find so I left it out, but after the first brew I realised it would be pretty handy so... I built my own!

I've used the same setup for the buttons as the PID; far left button for mode/set, then a shift left / start stop button, then down, and up.

You can also set 5 different alarms for things like hops additions:

The whole control panel is pretty Soviet looking as my girlfriend likes to point out, but I'm pretty pleased, and it works!

Nothing wrong with that, they were great pioneers in the space race. Maybe you’re next ;)
