Connecting Wort Chiller to modern style tap

Since I have done my last BIAB (nearly two years ago!) our kitchen has been re-done and my wife insisted on one of those new style taps, flexible neck, sprayer, etc (see photo). Been trying to work out how to attach the inlet hose of the chiller - with the old style tap it was easy to use a hose coupler. Have been trawling the internet to find a ready made connector but to no avail. Is there an easy way to do this - DIY I assume is called for? Anyone? It's an Ikea kitchen tap.

i would forget the topside of the tap and head south, try a self cutting clamp on tap, under the work top, memshaab keeps her new kitchen brew free , you have a perfect threaded fitting with a hoselock fitting hidden under the work top. do it your self all in a tenna

Only the very bottom unscrews, where the filter mesh sits, doesn't help.

Was thinking about that, definitely much neater than some suggestions, for example using gorilla tape to fix the hose at the bottom ..... though I have also been pondering getting a hose fitting the tap diameter and using a large jubilee clip to fit temporarily for the brew.

See if you can tee into the washing machine/ dishwasher supply instead, and have the threaded type connector available under the sink instead. You can also use a flexi tail to an area you can get to closer to the door and fix that down well with saddle clamps so it won't stress the original pipework if someone trips over the hose.

I've done this with a Y fitting to install a dishwasher inline, and a water filter.

If you have additional isolator ball valves under there it could be easier than a tap fitting in your case.
T valves also available to replace a single of the same dimensions, so you can branch off.

You can get a fitting that fits the screw thread on the nozzle...I think!

I have ones of these. I just unscrew the filter from my kitchen mixer tap and screw this on. It's particularly useful for filling FV's and Corny's with hot water via a hose when cleaning.

I was in the same boat, got 1/2” bsp to 3/4”bsp reducer coming through the post, a little cheaper than the official hozelock one off of Amazon

Yip, that is what I use. No mess, and I can attach a shall hose to help cleaning too.

Hi. I tried to buy a John Guest attachment that I could attach to the Hozelock adapter that would then accept 3/8 gas beer line. I thought this would be great for flushing with hot water but the fitting they sent is the wrong size. It's not even 3/16 unfortunately. I saw them on Amazon but a couple of people said they'd received the wrong fitting so I ordered elsewhere. Starting to wonder if this fitting actually exists now. Returning mine at the moment.

same. From the tap I run it into a 3/4” bsp washing machine hose as I know that’s pressure rated. At the wort chiller I did get specialised 1/2” bsp to metric 10mm connector s And use with the 1/2” bsp to 3/4” bsp reducer. Recently I obtained a 1x 1/2” bsp male to 2x 10mm compression copper T fitting. That was a pain to screw up but does mean I could split incoming and run two parallel chiller coils.

I forgot where it is but there is a massive John Guest catalogue online where you can look through the combinations and ratings or alternatively plumbers merchants might have it. I think I have a John guest female 3/4” bsp to 3/8” push it. I was planning to try it with 10mm copper but decided against it.

Purchased this from another seller and it's the correct item. Screws into Hozelock tap adapter and now I can flush 3/8 and 3/16 Lines (via JG reducer). This is great for being able to loosen up any sticky beer with hot water before properly cleaning and sanitising.

Dammmmmn. How much time wasted over the years trying to persuade a "modified" hozelock tap adapter to squidge onto the end of my tap without squirting everywhere? How much time clearing up the mess when it clearly doesn't work?

I didn't even know these were a thing. Bloody obvious really... but hey ho. Every day's a school day.

Done a dummy run with the wort chiller connection - opted for the tap connector rather than a permanent solution which is a good idea if you do loads of brews. Only do max three BIAB brews a year so this is the most economical solution, also do kit brews which are much simpler of course.
This is the 1/2 inch connector fitted to the inlet hose which goes to the Ikea tap:

It seems most tap connectors are 3/4 inch, 1/2 inch seems to be rare,maybe.
